Meridian, ID – Earlier today, Meridian Police Officers responded after receiving a report from a concerned citizen regarding the actions of a student off school campus. Officers at Meridian High School immediately intervened when the student was located in the student parking lot after returning to campus.
Through the course of the investigation, officers determined the student had weapons in a vehicle upon returning to campus. At no time was there a threat to the school.
The male juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
The West Ada School District was on scene and assisted during the investigation. The Meridian Police Department wants to reassure parents and community members that there was never an ongoing threat to students or staff. Both agencies will continue working closely to maintain a safe learning environment.
