UPD #LASD Homicide Bureau Responded to a Death Investigation, 1300 blk of E Alondra Blvd #Compton
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a male adult in Compton. The incident occurred on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at approximately 3:21 p.m.
Deputies from Compton Sheriff’s Station responded to the 1300 block of Alondra Boulevard in Compton regarding a report of disturbance. Prior to their arrival the call was updated indicating there was gunshot victim at the location. Upon arrival, deputies located a male adult suffering from a gunshot wound inside the location.
Compton Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the male deceased on scene.
Investigators learned the male entered the store following a female customer. The male groped the female customer. Employees requested the male leave the store. The male became increasingly verbally assaultive toward employees and customers. He started throwing and damaging merchandise in the store. The incident rapidly escalated. Employees and customers noted that the male had an object in his hand that they believed was a knife. The male made verbal threats that he was going to kill and harm everyone in the store. A second customer in the store, fearing for the store employees, herself, and other customers, retrieved a personal firearm and fired a warning shot at the male. The male turned toward that customer, fearing she was going to be attacked, fired a second shot striking the male.
Investigators believe, based on video evidence, there were additional customers in the store who may have witnessed the incident and are requesting they contact Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau. There may have also been citizens in the parking lot of the location who may have observed the male prior to this incident. Investigators would like them to come forward and contact Homicide Bureau.
The investigation is ongoing, and currently, there's no information available at this time.
