On Monday, October 13, 2025, Norwalk Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to a check-cashing business in the 14000 block of Pioneer Boulevard regarding a gunshot victim call. Upon their arrival, they discovered the victim lying in front of the location suffering from a gunshot wound.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital for further medical treatment. Later that day, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. This incident was initially handled by Norwalk Sheriff’s Station then assigned to the Homicide Bureau.
Homicide Investigators learned the victim had just exited a check-cashing business and was approached by three male suspects near his car. The suspects robbed the victim and attempted to take his vehicle, at which time the victim tried to stop the suspects. One of the suspects produced a firearm and shot the victim. The suspects fled on foot, westbound on Pioneer Boulevard, and out of view.
