Serious Injury Vehicle vs Pedestrian Collision

On Friday, September 19, 2025, at approximately 7:50 PM, officers from the Petaluma Police Department and Petaluma Fire Department responded to the area of North McDowell Blvd. and Redwood Way, Petaluma to investigate a report of a traffic collision, involving one vehicle and a pedestrian.
 
Officers and Petaluma Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and located the involved vehicle, driver, and the pedestrian still down on the roadway. Petaluma Fire Department transported the pedestrian to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of injuries to the pedestrian is unknown currently. The driver is cooperating with the investigation. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the collision.
 
Any witnesses who can provide information regarding the collision are encouraged to contact Officer Schott at 707-778-4598.
 
We want to remind our community that pedestrian safety is a shared responsibility. Drivers should slow down and remain alert. Pedestrians are encouraged to use marked crossings and stay visible, especially in low light conditions. Together, we can help prevent these types of accidents and keep our streets safe for everyone.
