Narrative:
Jack Crawford was arrested by East County Major Crimes Sexual Assault Unit Detectives and Thousand Oaks Patrol Deputies for eight counts of invasion of privacy.

On June 5, 2025, a patrol deputy responded to the Target retail store in the 2700 block of Teller Road in Thousand Oaks in reference to a subject recording the victim while she was in a fitting room at the location.  The victim observed a cell phone camera over the wall and into the fitting room.  The victim yelled out and the cell phone was suddenly pulled back over the wall.

Video surveillance was recovered from the Target store, and the suspect was identified as Jack Crawford, a resident of Thousand Oaks. Sexual Assault Unit Detectives authored a search warrant for Crawford’s cell phone. Crawford was contacted and his cell phone was seized and analyzed per the search warrant.  The analysis from Crawford’s cell phone showed he went to the Target retail store on May 12, 2025, June 2, 2025, and June 5, 2025, and he video recorded a total of eight unknown female victims while changing in the fitting rooms.

Sexual Assault Unit Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Crawford for eight counts of PC 647(j)(1) – Invasion of privacy.  On September 17, 2025, Crawford was arrested for the warrant and booked into the East County Jail.
