East Chicago honors Patriot Day—Read Mayor Anthony Copeland’s message of unity and remembrance.
East Chicago Observes Patriot Day
Mayor Anthony Copeland and the City of East Chicago join the nation in honoring Patriot Day, a day to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to recognize the courage of first responders and the resilience of the American people.
This day reminds us not only of the tragedy we endured, but of the unity and strength that carried our nation forward. Patriot Day challenges us to take those lessons—compassion, courage, and service—and apply them as we continue to build a brighter future together.
“Patriot Day is about remembrance, but it is also about renewal,” said Mayor Anthony Copeland. “Here in East Chicago, we honor the past while looking ahead, committed to standing together as one community and one nation.”
May we never forget, and may we always move forward with hope, unity, and purpose.
