Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Seeks Public’s Help in Identifying Suspects in the Murder of Edgar Vasquez
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau held a press conference to request the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects responsible for the murder of Edgar Vasquez.
They were joined by Edgar’s mother, Gabriela Moreno, his sister, Aimee, his brother, Angel, and members of their extended family, who stood in solidarity as investigators appealed for information.
On Monday, July 6, 2020, at approximately 11 p.m., Edgar was driving his vehicle in the alley to the rear of his residence on the 400 block of East 135th Street in Los Angeles. He had just left his home to go to work as a security guard when multiple gunshots were fired at his white Toyota Camry. Tragically, Edgar sustained a gunshot wound and was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Surveillance footage from that night captured two unidentified Black male suspects fleeing the area. Investigators also identified a white Jeep Grand Cherokee and a black Chevrolet Silverado truck seen leaving the scene shortly after the shooting.
Detectives believe there are individuals who may have witnessed the incident or have information that could assist in the investigation. Even the smallest detail may prove vital in identifying those responsible.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, led by Supervisor Holly Mitchell, has approved a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) in this case.
I don’t want my son’s case to be a cold case. There are too many. If you know something say something.”- Edgar Vasquez’s mother, Gabriela Moreno
