Who: Los Angeles County Sheriff Department Homicide Captain Arturo Spencer, Lieutenant Chris Oakley, Detective Maria Marciel, Detective Bryce Chalmers, Century Station Captain Christopher Minott and family members of victim Edgar Vasquez
What: LASD Homicide Lieutenant Chris Oakley and Homicide Bureau are urgently seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of Edgar Vasquez.
To aid in this effort, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those involved.
On Monday, July 6, 2020, at approximately 11 p.m., Edgar was driving his white Toyota Camry in the alley behind his residence on the 400 block of East 135th Street in Los Angeles. Edgar, who had just left home to head to work as a security guard, came under gunfire. Multiple shots were fired at his vehicle, and he tragically sustained a fatal gunshot wound, dying at the scene.
