Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Missing Person’s Detail is advising Critical Missing Children Juaquin and Aastha Vides have been found.

Thank you to the public, the media, and deputy personnel for their efforts in the search for Juaquin and Aastha.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department South Los Angeles Station is asking for the public’s help locating Critical Missing Children (Parental Abduction), Juaquin (11-years-old male Hispanic) and Aastha Vides (8-years-old female Hispanic). They were both last seen on August 8, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. on the 1000 block of W. 88th Street in the unincorporated area of Los Angeles.

Juaquin is 3’08”, 49lbs with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt with a yellow stripe.

Aastha is 3’06”, 35lbs with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a green t-shirt with white flowers. She also has a birthmark on her left foot.

The children were last seen with their father, Juaquin Vides Sr. who is a 35-year-old male Hispanic. Juaquin Sr. is 5'05", 220lbs with brown hair, brown eyes and is deaf/mute. 

Suspect Juaquin Vides Sr. and the missing children were last seen in a 2012 green Mazda 2, California License plate number 9DRV087.

Suspect Sylvia Gonzalez is a 53-year-old female Hispanic who was last seen driving the indicated vehicle. Sylvia is 5'01", 233lbs with gray hair and hazel eyes. They may have a possible destination within the city of San Jose.

The family is concerned for the childrens' well-being and is asking for the public's assistance in locating them.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, South Los Angeles Station Detective Partida or the on-duty Watch Commander at (323) 820-6700.
