Parents of Toddler Found Walking Alone in Needles Arrested for Child Abuse

DATE/TIME: Sunday, August 10, 2025, at approximately 6:00 a.m.

INCIDENT: PC 273A(A) - Child Abuse; PC 3455 Violation of Post Release Community Supervision 

LOCATION: Broadway Street and L Street, Needles, CA 

SUSPECT(S): Bradley Underwood, 48 years old, Resident of Needles, CA
                        Sara Estrada, 30 years old, Resident of Needles, CA


VICTIM(S): Confidential Female,  2 1/2 years old, Resident of Needles


SUMMARY: On Sunday, August 10, 2025, deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to the area Broadway Street and L Street reference a report of a young juvenile observed with no shoes, walking over the railroad overpass. Upon arrival, deputies located the child, later determined to be 2 1/2 years old. During the investigation, the child's parents, identified as Bradley Underwood and Sara Estrada, arrived on scene. While being questioned both Underwood and Estrada displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a central nervous system stimulant. A search warrant was served at the suspect's residence, where additional evidence was obtained. 

Bradley Underwood was arrested on the above mentioned charges and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Bradley Underwood remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with no bail, awaiting a court hearing. 

Sara Estrada was arrested for PC273A(A) -Child Abuse and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Sara Estrada remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $50,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.  

The 2 1/2 year old female juvenile was transported to the Colorado River Station where Child Protective Services assumed care and custody of her.
