Around midnight on August 1, 2025, officers responded to the Regal Cinemas parking lot located at 2751 Tapo Canyon Road regarding an assault investigation. The reporting party advised that several juveniles were involved in a physical altercation. An adult victim was contacted at the scene, and an investigation was initiated.
The Simi Valley Police Department is aware that multiple videos of the incident have been posted on social media and is actively collecting that data as part of the investigation. At this time, it remains unclear what initiated the altercation or whether it may constitute a potential hate crime.
The victim sustained injuries during the assault; however, they are not considered life-threatening.
