Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a male adult in Lawndale. The incident occurred on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at approximately 8:06 p.m.
Deputies from the South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station responded to the 15800 block of Prairie Avenue in the city of Lawndale regarding a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim inside of a business who had been shot. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and pronounced the victim deceased on scene.
Investigators learned the victim was inside of a convenience store purchasing liquid beverages when the suspect entered the convenience store. The victim and the suspect exchanged words with each other and a fight ensued between them. The suspect produced a firearm and shot the victim. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle westbound through a nearby alley. The victim ran to a back isle of the convenience store where he collapsed and was found by deputies.
The investigation is ongoing, and currently, there's no information available at this time.
