17-year-old charged in connection with St. Helena Island shooting death 
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office arrested a St. Helena Island teen in the shooting death of a 14-year-old a week ago on St. Helena Island.
Late last night, Thursday, July 24, 2025, Charles Jamirea Williams, 17, of St. Helena Island, was served warrants for his arrest on the charges of murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Just before midnight on Friday, July 18, 2025, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a report of a gunshot victim at a home on Capers Island Circle on St. Helena Island. The victim, a 14-year-old male, died as a result of the shooting despite lifesaving efforts.
Throughout the investigation, Williams was identified as the individual responsible, and warrants were obtained for his arrest.
