Colorado man arrested for DUI.
On July 24, 2025, at 3:08 a.m., Deputy Levi Sims conducted a welfare check on the driver of a Gray 2025 Nissan on US 41 near the Kings Mine Exit after observing multiple unsafe changes. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Sims identified the driver as 59-year-old Mark Steward of Fort Collins, Colorado. While speaking with Mr. Steward and the occupants in the vehicle Deputies on scene detected multiple clues that illegal drug activity had occurred. At that point Deputy Sims and Deputy Wyatt Hunt began a roadside DUI investigation. During the investigation a passenger in the vehicle had a medical emergency where Narcan was administered. After a Gibson County Ambulance was dispatched to the scene and released by the patient Deputy Sims and Hunt continued their investigation into a possible DUI on Mr. Steward. At the conclusion of their investigation Mr. Steward was taken into custody and transported to Deaconess Gibson Hospital for Medical clearance and then to the Gibson County Detention Center. Upon arriving at the Detention Center Mr. Steward was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.
Deputies Sims and Hunt were assisted in their investigation by Princeton Officer Logan Lashbrook and Jackie Wood.
