Reckless Motorcyclist Arrested After Dangerous Driving in Meridian
MERIDIAN – Today, July 8, 2025, Meridian Police Officers arrested 20-year-old Alexander BOWMAN for reckless driving after a series of dangerous traffic violations on his motorcycle.
An officer observed BOWMAN traveling at a high rate of speed in a 45-mph zone. While westbound near the intersection of McDermott and McMillan, BOWMAN was seen passing another vehicle by crossing a double solid yellow line. Moments later, BOWMAN ran a red light at the intersection of McDermott and Ustick.
During the stop, it was determined that BOWMAN did not have the required motorcycle endorsement to legally operate a motorcycle in the State of Idaho. He was taken into custody without further incident and booked into the Ada County Jail for reckless driving. He was also cited for operating a motorcycle without an endorsement.
Motorcycle Safety Reminder
The Meridian Police Department would like to take this opportunity to remind all motorcycle riders to operate responsibly and follow all traffic laws. Motorcycles are smaller, faster, and less visible to other vehicles, which makes responsible riding even more critical.
We have received numerous reports in recent weeks of reckless behavior involving motorcycles—such as speeding, weaving through traffic, and failing to stop at signals. These behaviors not only endanger the rider but also put other drivers, pedestrians, and community members at risk.
Please ensure the following before riding:
