Infant Injured when Mother Allows 12-year-old Child to Drive a Vehicle in Apartment Complex Parking Lot

LOCATION: 14700 block of Seneca Road, Victorville
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at approximately 3:41 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to the Rancho Seneca Apartment complex for a traffic collision involving a pedestrian.
Through investigation, deputies learned a mother gave permission to her 12-year-old child to move the vehicle in the parking lot of the apartment complex. The mother stood near the driver’s door, holding her infant child, while the 12-year-old moved the vehicle. While moving the vehicle, the vehicle door hit the mother causing her to fall to the ground and drop her infant child. The infant sustained head injuries and was flown to Loma Linda University Medical Center. The investigation is ongoing.
