SUSPECT 1: James Martin, 67-year-old Resident of Victorville, SUSPECT 2: Elizabeth Grow, 50-year-old Resident of
Victorville
VICTIM(S): Adult Male, 33-year-old resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Sunday, June 29, 2025, at approximately 8:28 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to the 1700 block of Sierra Road for reports of an assault with a deadly weapon.
The suspect, who was identified as James Martin, had an argument in the victim’s front yard. Martin fired several gunshots at the victim, striking him in the back. The victim was taken to a hospital prior to deputies arriving on scene. When deputies arrived, they surrounded Martin’s residence and made several announcements for all occupants to exit the residence.
A search warrant was authored and granted for Martin’s residence. Deputies made entry into the residence but only located Martin’s roommate; Elizabeth Grow. Martin arrived at the Victorville Police Department several hours later and was taken into custody without incident.
James Martin was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center, in Adelanto for P.C. 664/187(a) – Attempted Murder. Elizabeth Grow was arrested and booked at the Hight Desert Detention Center, for P.C. 3056- Violation of Parole.
