Traffic Stop Leads to Search Warrant of Suspect's Residence Where Firearms, Ammunition and Drugs were Found

INCIDENT: PC29800(A)(1)- Felon in Possession of a Firearm PC30305(A)(1) - Felon in Posession of Unlawful Ammunition PC25850(C)(1) - Carrying a Loaded Firearm with Prior Felony PC25850(C)(6) - Carrying a Loaded Firearm-Not the Owner
LOCATION: D Street and W Broadway Street
SUSPECT(S): Joseph Burhop, 37-years old, Resident of Needles, CA
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Sunday, June 22, 2025, at approximately 3:12 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/ San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department conducted a traffic enforcement stop near D Street and W Broadway Street. During the stop they contacted Joseph Burhop and discovered he was a felon in possession of a firearm and unlawful ammunition.
Burhop was subsequently arrested and transported to the High Desert Detention Center for booking. Burhop remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department on $30,000 bail, awaiting a court hearing.
On Monday, June 23, 2025, detectives and deputies served a search warrant at Burhop's residence where additional firearms, ammunition and narcotics were located.
