Advisory: Mayor Derek Armstead has announced that the JTG Center, located at 311 Helen St, will remain open for residents without power. Indoor temperatures are much hotter than outdoor temperatures and can quickly become dangerous. Residents are encouraged to come relax in the air conditioning and charge their phones or electronic devices.
Please remember to check on vulnderable friends and neighbors who may also be without power. Seniors and those with chronic health problems or mental health conditions are at an increased risk.
Stay cool and watch for signs of heat related illness. If you or anyone near you is overcome by heat, call 9-1-1 immediately.
