INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Crash
LOCATION: Green Tree Boulevard/ Hesperia Road
DECEDENT1) Maria V. Alvarado, 25-years-old, Resident of Apple Valley
DECEDENT2) Ricardo T. Dawkins, 44-years-old, Resident of Adelanto
SUMMARY:
On Sunday, June 15, 2025, at about 4:53 p.m., deputies from the Victorville City Police Station, along with Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response personnel, responded to the area of Green Tree Boulevard and Hesperia Road, for a three-vehicle crash with injuries.
Through investigaton, it was determined a black Cadillac Escalade drove west on Green Tree Boulevard, crossed into oncoming lanes of traffic and struck a grey Acura TL in the east bound lane of Green Tree Boulevard. The driver of the Acura, later identified as Maria Alvarado, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Cadillac, later identified as Ricardo Dawkins, was in critical condition and was flown to Loma Linda University Hospital. A driving under the influence investigation was conducted on Dawkins at the initial portion of the investigation. Dawkins was later pronounced deceased at Loma Linda University Hospital.
The occupants of the third vehicle were uninjured and their vehicle sustained minor damage. Members of Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team were called to the scene and assumed the investigation.
East and west bound lanes of Green Tree Boulevard were closed for about six hours for the investigation.
