On June 7, 2025, at approximately 12:47 AM an SVPD unit was in the area of Bigelow Ave. and Larch St. The Officer observed a bicyclist in the neighborhood with no bicycle light. The Officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop for the lighting violation. The bicyclist failed to yield and fled from the officer. As the bicyclist attempted to evade the officer, the suspect lost control of the bicycle and crashed. The suspect was subsequently detained and searched. During the search, officers located a loaded firearm and narcotics on the individual.
The suspect was later identified as Rudy Mora, a 33-year-old resident of Filmore. The suspect was arrested and booked at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Pre-Trial Detention Facility for Resisting Arrest, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Felon in Possession of Controlled Substance, and Possession of Controlled Substance while Armed.
