Police Activity in the area of Grouse Ln and Quail Dr. 
On May 31st, at 6:34 A.M., Officers with the Petaluma Police Department were dispatched to the area of Grouse Ln and Quail Dr for a non-responsive adult male subject lying in the roadway next to a parked vehicle. Petaluma Fire Department and EMS were also dispatched. Once they arrived on scene, they discovered a male subject down in the street where he was pronounced deceased.
Due to the circumstances, the Petaluma Police Department Detective unit responded to conduct an investigation. During that time, a portion of Grouse Ln, between Quail Dr and Ivy Ln was temporarily blocked off while Detectives conducted their initial investigation.
A cause of death has not yet been determined however preliminary investigative efforts indicate that the death was not suspicious in nature and there were no obvious signs of foul play. The Sonoma County Coroner’s Unit responded to the scene and took custody of the deceased male. The name of the male subject is being withheld until the proper family notifications have been made.
