At 9:12 pm on Tuesday, May 27, Fairfield Police Dispatch received a 911 call from the residents of a home in the 2000 Block of Eagle Way.

They reported that a stabbing occurred and requested an ambulance. The victim, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries at the scene and the suspect fled before police arrived. 

The preliminary investigation revealed a verbal argument at the home escalated into a physical confrontation and stabbing. The suspect was quickly identified as Kristopher Johnson, a 37-year-old Fairfield resident known to the victim.

Detectives from the Fairfield Police Department’s Special Operations Team (SOT) relentlessly pursued the suspect, with their investigation leading them to a hotel in the City of Vallejo, California. 

With assistance from the Vallejo Police Department, Kristopher Johnson was safely taken into custody at around 10:45 pm yesterday, May 28th. 

This appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the community. The investigation remains active, and additional details may be released as they become available.
