Update: Second Driver Faces Charges in Velp Avenue Crash; GBPD Identifies Driver of Black GMC Sierra 1500
A second driver faces charges from last month’s two-vehicle, head-on crash on Velp Avenue.
The Green Bay Police Department has identified the driver of a black GMC Sierra 1500 pickup truck, which witnesses claim was racing with a red Dodge Challenger muscle car before the car struck a white Chevrolet Express van at the intersection of Wilson Avenue on April 1, 2025.
On May 22, 2025, the Brown County District Attorney’s Office filed charges against Timothy Mossberger, 35, Green Bay, who was identified to be driving the black GMC Sierra 1500:
- Second-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety – Two Counts
On April 3, 2025, the Brown County District Attorney’s Office charged Jason Wright, Jr., 22, Green Bay, who was identified to be driving the red Dodge Challenger:
- Second-Degree Reckless Injury – Two Counts
- Operating Motor Vehicle While Suspended – Cause Great Bodily Harm – Two Counts
Three people were treated for serious injuries sustained from the crash.
