Narrative:
On 05/10/2025, at about 9:00 AM, Ojai Patrol deputies arrested (A) Javier Soriano Cassarubias for his involvement in the brandishing of a firearm and criminal threats incident that occurred the night of 05/09/2025 in the unincorporated area of Ojai known as Oak View. 
 
On 05/09/2025, at about 9:15 PM, Ojai Patrol deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of North Ventura Avenue in Oak View reference a brandishing that occurred.  During the investigation, deputies learned a customer at a nearby taco vender became upset about his order and an argument ensued between the customer and an employee.  During the incident, the suspect brandished a firearm at the employee and threatened her.
 
The suspect then fled in a grey colored sedan.  Members of the West County Special Enforcement Unit responded to assist in the investigation.  Ojai Patrol deputies reviewed video surveillance at the business and identified the vehicle and obtained a description of the suspect.  Ojai Patrol deputies located the vehicle in the 200 block of East Oak View Avenue in Oak View.  Using various law enforcement databases, the suspect was identified as the registered owner of the vehicle, (A) Javier Soriano Cassarubias. 
 
On 05/10/2025, at about 9:00 AM, Ojai Patrol deputies observed (A) Javier Soriano Cassarubias in the 200 block of East Oak View Avenue and took him into custody without incident.  During the arrest, a replica firearm was located near where the suspect was observed.  The replica firearm matched the description of the weapon brandished at the victim the previous evening. 

(A) Javier Soriano Cassarubias was arrested for violation of PC 417.4- Brandishing of a replica firearm and PC 422- Criminal Threats and booked at the Ventura County Main Jail with a $20,000.00 bail.  Javier Soriano Cassarubias was released on bond 5/11/2025.
