Quick Police Response Leads to Arrest in Assault Investigation

On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at approximately 6:44 p.m., Culver City Police Department officers responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a female screaming for help and bleeding from the back of her head near the 4100 block of Madison Avenue.

Thanks to a rapid and coordinated response, multiple CCPD officers arrived within minutes. Upon arrival, officers located a female adult victim sitting on the ground, visibly injured and holding the back of her head. Culver City Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim reported that she was followed by an unknown male while walking in the neighborhood. The suspect, described as a Hispanic male in his 30s, allegedly attacked the victim from behind, grabbing her by the head, pulling her to the ground, and repeatedly punching her in the head in an unprovoked assault.

Officers immediately canvassed the area and, within a short time, located a suspect matching the description near the 4100 block of La Salle Avenue. The suspect was detained without incident, positively identified, and arrested for Assault Likely to Produce Great Bodily Injury (Penal Code 245(a)(4)).

The Culver City Police Department commends the swift actions of our responding officers and the bravery of our community members who intervened in the attack by immediately calling for help. Our officers’ rapid arrival and decisive actions, coupled with the collaborative effort of our community members, directly led to the suspect’s arrest and helped prevent this suspect from causing any further harm to our community.
