Advisory
Traffic investigators from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station are investigating the circumstances of a felony hit and run traffic collision involving a vehicle vs pedestrian. The incident took place near the intersection of Fountain Avenue and Havenhurst Drive, West Hollywood.
Preliminary investigation indicated the driver of a white colored sedan was traveling westbound on Fountain Avenue, through the intersection with Havenhurst Drive. As the vehicle crossed through the intersection, it failed to yield to a pedestrian who was legally crossing northbound through the crosswalk. The hit-and-run vehicle then struck the pedestrian and continued westbound on Fountain Avenue and out of view. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The hit-and-run vehicle is presumed to have collision damage to the front/left-front of the bumper.
The cause of the collision is still being investigated. The speed of the hit-and-run vehicle appears to be a factor in the crash. It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs played a role with the driver of the vehicle.
Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact Traffic Investigators at West Hollywood Sheriff Station by calling 310-358-4038.
