On 04/26/2025,  at about 8:30 PM, Ojai Patrol Deputies responded to the 800 block of Mercer Avenue in the City of Ojai reference a prowler.  The resident was in the process of getting children ready for bed when they heard noises inside their residence.  The suspect(s) was scared away by the resident, and they called “911”.  Deputies quickly responded to the area but were unable to locate any suspect(s).
 
 
The Ojai Investigations Bureau is actively investigating this crime and is asking for the public’s assistance for any information or surveillance video regarding the incident.  Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Detective Joe Sharif at (805) 477-7038 or Detective Eric Nelson at (805) 477-4042.  Tips can also be submitted through Ventura County Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477), where callers can remain anonymous.
