Who: Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert G. Luna, Community Partnerships Bureau Captain Geoffrey Deedrick, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisor District 2 Office of Holly Mitchell, CEO-Homeless Initiative Kim Barnett, Los Angeles County Fire Department Captain Rich Ruelas, Representative from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works and Representative from Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority
What: The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homeless Outreach Services Team (HOST), in coordination with several county agencies, will lead a cleanup and outreach operation in West Rancho Dominguez addressing encampments that pose public safety and health risks. The effort will involve removing trash, debris, and RVs obstructing sidewalks and roads.
The goal is to transition individuals from homelessness into safe, permanent housing in order to enhance public safety and improve the quality of life for both unhoused individuals and the surrounding communities affected by RV encampments.
Individuals experiencing homelessness will be offered housing and support services, with transport provided by social workers. The operation is expected to take approximately three days.

Media will be granted access to the removal area if it is deemed safe by authorities at the scene, with the understanding that individuals experiencing homelessness are not to be photographed or recorded in order to protect their privacy.
