Apple Valley Man Leaves the Scene of a Shooting and is Later Arrested for Attempted Murder

LOCATION: 13000 Block Visalia Avenue, Lucerne Valley
SUSPECT(S): Nicholas Moores, 37-years-old, Resident of Apple Valley
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at about 8:35 p.m., deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff's Station responded to a report of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. The suspect, identified as Nicholas Moores, fled in a white U-HAUL Chevy Silverado pickup.
With assistance from the Apple Valley Sheriff's Station and the Aviation Unit, Moores and the Silverado were located in the area of Laguna Seca Drive and Tussing Ranch Road in the unincorporated area of Apple Valley.
Moores was taken into custody without incident and the victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
