Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a shooting death investigation.
On Friday, April 11, 2025, at approximately 12:27 a.m., Hawthorne Police Department officers responded to the 4200 block of Broadway in the city of Hawthorne regarding a gunshot victim call.
When officers arrived on scene, they located two victims, victim 1 suffering a gunshot wound to his upper torso and victim 2 suffering a gunshot to his lower torso.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and transported both victims to a local hospital.
Victim 1, male Hispanic 16 years old, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Victim 2, male Hispanic 32 years old, was treated for his non-life-threatening injuries.
Hawthorne Police Department Gang Investigators have determined the shooting to be gang related.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
