Deputy Assaulted While Investigating Report of a Gun Brought onto a School Campus

LOCATION: 10100 Block of Third Avenue, Hesperia
SUSPECT(S): 14-year-old Male Juvenile
SUMMARY: On April 9, 2025, at approximately 4:11 p.m., a deputy with the Hesperia Police Department responded to the 10100 block of Third Avenue in the city of Hesperia, reference a report of a subject who brought a firearm to the school. The deputy arrived on scene and contacted the subjects who allegedly had the firearm. When the deputy asked to speak to the subjects who allegedly had the firearm, one of them, a 14-year-old male, walked away. When the deputy attempted to detain him, he physically assaulted the deputy, which led to a brief struggle, and a use of force occurred. The subject was arrested and taken into custody.
The subject was transported to the Juvenile Detention and Assessment Center and booked for PC69 – Resisting an Officer. Deputies did not locate a gun during the investigation.
