Investigation Leads to the Arrest of Brothers Who Shot Two Teens During an Argument

DATE/TIME: Monday, March 3, 2025, at 9:00 p.m.

INCIDENT: P.C 664/187(a)- Attempted Murder, P.C 245(a)(2)- Assault with a Firearm 

LOCATION: 800 Block of West Olive Street, Colton

SUSPECT(S): Raul Martinez Jr., 22-year-old resident of San Bernardino
Bryan Martinez, 18-year-old resident of San Bernardino

VICTIM(S): Two Confidential Juveniles


SUMMARY: On Monday, March 3, 2025, deputies assigned to Sheriff's Central Station were dispatched to a residence in the county area of Colton in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies discovered two juveniles were shot multiple times. Preliminary investigations revealed the juveniles were involved in a verbal disagreement with two Hispanic males in a white Volkswagen Golf hatchback moments before being shot. Through further investigation, investigators identified two brothers, Raul Martinez Jr. and Bryan Martinez, as the suspects involved in the shooting. Arrest warrants were issued for both Raul and Bryan for the crimes of PC 664/187(a)- Attempted Murder and PC 245(a)(2)- Assault with a Firearm.

On Sunday, March 30, 2025, Raul was contacted by Central Station deputies during a traffic stop. Raul was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm and was subsequently placed under arrest for his active warrant and a new weapon violation. On Monday, March 31, 2025, members of the Sheriff's Specialized Enforcement Division (SED) and Central Station's Multiple Enforcement Team (MET) served a search warrant at Raul and Bryan's residence. Bryan was contacted at the residence and was subsequently placed under arrest for his active warrant. Raul and Bryan were booked into the Central Detention Center (CDC) where they are being held on $1,000,000 bail.
