At approximately 11:05 a.m. today, a 9-1-1 system outage affected all patrol stations. We identified that the outage was caused by a brief drop in electricity voltage from an external utility company. The disruption lasted up to 20 minutes, and once the patrol stations became aware of the issue, they were able to implement backup procedures. Certain patrol stations were able to regain 9-1-1 service quicker than others.
The Department is currently conducting an internal review to assess the extent of the impact. At this time, the 9-1-1 system is fully operational. The safety and security of our community remains our top priority. Despite the temporary disruption to the 9-1-1 system, our deputies swiftly adapted to the situation, demonstrating exceptional dedication in ensuring public safety.
