Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Investigators are announcing they have identified the suspect in the murder of a 61-year-old Asian Male, in the city of Arcadia.  Zehao Lu, a 41-year-old, Chinese National, has been identified as the suspect in the homicide.   A no bail warrant has been issued for his arrest.   Detectives have exhausted all leads and are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Suspect Lu.  Suspect Lu is considered to be armed and dangerous and believed to have fled to China.
 
On March 11, 2025, at approximately 6:26 pm, officers from the Arcadia Police Department responded to the 50 block of Woodland Lane in the city of Arcadia regarding a caller who stated an intruder had entered their home and their father had been shot. 
 
Responding personnel discovered the 61-year-old victim in the location suffering from a gunshot to his torso, they provided medical aid until the arrival of fire personnel.  Arcadia Fire Department personnel treated the victim and transported him to a local hospital were he tragically died from his wound.
 
Two additional victims were discovered at the location, a 43-year-old Asian female and a 13-year-old Asian male.  The 13-year-old sustained scratches to his head and neck, he was treated at the scene and released.  The female victim was unharmed.
 
Homicide investigators learned Suspect Lu confronted the female victim and her son in the driveway of the location.  He forced them into their home where a confrontation occurred with the 61-year-old victim.  Suspect Lu shot the 61-year-old victim and fled the location in an unknown direction.  
 
The case is still being actively investigated and no further details about the case will be shared in order to maintain the integrity of the investigation. The identities of the victims are being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.

Investigators believe this was an isolated incident.

Homicide investigators presented the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration on Thursday, March 13, 2025.  One count of murder, two counts of assault with a semi-automatic handgun, and one count of burglary with a person present to commit a felony was filed against Zehao Lu.  A no bail warrant with an extradition order was issued.
 
Arcadia Police Department, Chief Roy Nakamura commented, “The tragic homicide on Tuesday, March 11, resulted from a dispute between two individuals who were known to each other. Our deepest sympathies go out to the victim's family during this incredibly difficult time. While this targeted act of violence has deeply affected us all, we want to assure the community that Arcadia remains a safe place to live and work.”

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male adult in Arcadia.  The incident occurred on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at approximately 06:26 p.m.
 
Officers from the Arcadia Police Department responded to the 50 block of Woodland Lane in Arcadia regarding a report of a male intruder and a gunshot victim at the location.  Upon arrival, officers located a male adult, who resided at the location, suffering from a gunshot wound.  The Arcadia Fire Department responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.  
 
The investigation is ongoing, and currently, there’s no additional information available at this time.
