Alert: Evacuation Warnings and Evacuation Orders effective 7:00 AM March 12, 2025 – 6:00 PM March 13, 2025. No street parking in affected areas.
A Phase 2 storm event is forecasted, prompting the City of Sierra Madre to issue Evacuation Warnings and Evacuation Orders for high-risk areas. These orders will be effective from 7:00 AM on Wednesday, March 12, through 6:00 PM on Thursday, March 13. This storm cycle is expected to be similar in intensity to the February 13, 2025 storm and has the potential to trigger significant mudflows and debris movement.
- No Athens solid waste collection will occur in the upper or lower canyon areas during this time. Do not place bins at the curb.
- No street parking is allowed in areas designated under an Evacuation Warning or Evacuation Order.
- Evacuation Warnings mean you should prepare immediately—pack essentials, secure your home, and plan where you will go.
- Evacuation Orders are mandatory—you must leave immediately. If you do not evacuate, you may be trapped for days before emergency crews can reach you.
- Emergency responders will not be able to assist once conditions become too dangerous.
- Stay alert – Monitor weather updates and official city alerts.
- Be prepared – Have your emergency bag packed and evacuation plan ready.
- Follow orders – If an Evacuation Order is issued, leave immediately.
- Red Flag Parking Restrictions – In effect for areas under an Evacuation Warning or Order.
- Sandbags – Available for residents at the City Yard (621 E Sierra Madre Blvd, near the Rose Float Barn)
