Newark Street to reopen following the completion of emergency NHSA repairs
The City of Hoboken and North Hudson Sewerage Authority (NHSA) today announced that Newark Street and Jefferson Street are scheduled to reopen at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, following significant upgrades to the combined sewer infrastructure at the intersection of Henderson Street and Observer Highway. NHSA discovered and replaced an existing wooden box culvert with a modern pre-cast concrete culvert structure and installed new pre-cast concrete sewer manholes. This will not only increase capacity within the system but also help mitigate flooding in the area.
The City of Hoboken and the Office of Emergency Mangement would like to thank residents for their patience, as these critical repairs and improvements were made.
