During an abuse investigation on March 4, 2025, Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Virginia Avenue Park on 2000 block of Virginia Avenue at approximately 6:30 p.m. to contact the alleged suspect in the investigation. An officer involved shooting occurred. The suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene. No deputies were injured.
Detectives responded to the scene to assume the investigation.
Identity of the suspect will be released at a later date.
No further information will be released at this time. A video presentation to include body worn camera and other relevant information will be released at the conclusion of the investigation.
