San Leandro, CA - On Sunday, February 16, 2025, around 8:30 p.m., SLPD officers were investigating a vehicular assault that occurred in San Leandro. The investigation led our officers to the area of 164th Avenue and East 14th Street, where the suspect and suspect vehicle were located. Shortly afterwards, an officer involved shooting occurred involving 3 SLPD officers. The suspect was taken into custody. Neither the officers nor the suspect were injured in the incident. Since it occurred in the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction, they will be the primary agency investigating the officer involved shooting.
No further details will be released at this time. The Alameda County Sheriff's Office will be primary in releasing any other additional information.
