Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the officer-involved shooting in the city of Pomona. The incident occurred on Monday, February 3, 2025, at approximately 10:07 p.m in the area of Muchison Avenue and Stratus Drive in the city of Pomona.
Pomona Police Department received a 911 phone call describing a male with a gun chasing two other people. Pomona Police Officers responded to the area and observed a person matching the description of the armed male from the 911 phone call. When officers attempted to contact the male, the suspect produced a firearm, and an officer-involved shooting occurred.
The suspect sustained a gunshot wound to his upper torso and the Pomona Police Officers immediately began rendering medical aid pending the arrival of Los Angeles County Fire Personnel. Once the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived, they attempted to continue life-saving measures however the suspect succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The suspect’s firearm was recovered at the scene of the incident.
The investigation is ongoing, and currently, there’s no additional information available at this time.

NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are assisting Pomona Police Department investigating the circumstances surrounding an officer-involved shooting. The incident occurred near the intersection of Murchinson Avenue and Stratus Drive in the city of Pomona on February 3, 2025, at approximately 10:07 p.m.
The suspect was struck by gunfire and pronounced deceased at the scene.
No officers were injured during the incident.
