SUBJECT:     Felony Assault Suspect Apprehended
 
LOCATION: 1714 El Camino Real, Redwood City
 
DATE/TIME: August 24, 2024, Approximately 6:18 P.M.
 
On August 24, 2024, at approximately 6:18 P.M., Redwood City Police Officers responded to La Cueva Del Peludo located at 1714 El Camino Real in Redwood City on the report of an assault. Officers arrived on scene and learned the victim was assaulted by 3 suspects. Video surveillance revealed the altercation to be a very one sided fight in which one of the suspects was the primary aggressor who used unknown items to strike the victim and kicked the victim in the head while he was defenseless on the ground. The victim sustained a variety of injuries that required medical attention as a result of the altercation. None of the suspects were known to the victim.
 
This case was forwarded to the Investigations Division for follow up having only a video and license plate number for leads. Detectives were able to use a variety of investigative techniques to ultimately identify the main suspect who inflicted injury to the victim. He was identified as 25 year old Dave Villalobos from Hayward. Detectives then obtained a felony arrest warrant for Villalobos.
 
On January 15, 2025, at approximately 7:15 A.M, Detectives located Villalobos leaving his residence in Hayward. Villalobos was arrested without incident. Villalobos was later booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility for the following felony charges: Penal Code 243(D) – Battery with serious bodily injury and Penal Code 245(A)(4) – Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
