Child Pornography

      Today, members of the Janesville Police Department Detective Bureau arrested suspect, Nathaniel Rapson in the 2000 block of North Sumac Drive after a thorough three-month investigation into the allegations of child exploitation.
 
      In November of 2024, the Detective Bureau received a tip from an anonymous source reporting that Nathaniel Rapson had been showing sexually explicit photographs of a juvenile female on his cell phone. Following this lead, detectives initiated an investigation to gather more evidence.
 
      Today, detectives located Nathanial Rapson in the 2000 block of North Sumac Drive where he admitted to having sexual contact with a juvenile female. K9 Handler Detective Winiarski deployed K9 Maui, an Electronic Storage Detection Canine to locate electronics connected to the case within the residence.
 
      When Nathaniel was arrested, he had a cell phone in his possession which was later searched, and images of child pornography were located. Nathanial was arrested for five counts of Possession of Child Pornography, Second Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, and Probation Violation. He was later transported out to the Rock County Jail pending his initial court appearance.
