Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a female, 17-years-old, and the wounding of six additional individuals in the city of Signal Hill. The incident occurred on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at approximately 10:16 p.m.
Officers from the Signal Hill Police Department responded to the 1000 block of Burnett Street in Signal regarding a report of a gunshot victim at the location. Upon arrival, officers located 3 females and 4 males at the location suffering from gunshot wounds. L.A. Co. Fire paramedics responded and transported the victims to three local hospitals.
A female victim, 17-years-old, was pronounced deceased at a local hospital. The remaining victims all suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. They range in age from 17 to 19 years old.
Investigators learned there was a party at the location when the shooting occurred. They know there were many folks attending the party who had fled the location when the shooting occurred. Those individuals are encouraged to contact Homicide Bureau.
The investigation is ongoing, and currently, there’s no additional information available at this time.
