SVPD Officers involved in traffic collision 
On October 24, 2024, at approximately 9:25 P.M., two SVPD units traveling southbound on Tapo Canyon Road near the 118 Freeway were struck by a vehicle traveling in the same direction at a high rate of speed. The collision caused major damage to all three vehicles, and the two officers were transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Both officers are in stable condition.
The driver, identified as 28-year-old Luis Fernando Piceno-Venegas of Simi Valley, was arrested for DUI. The California Highway Patrol handled the investigation and arrest.
