Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male adult.
On Sunday, October 6, 2024, at approximately 4:33 p.m., South Los Angeles Station received a call for an assault with a deadly weapon gunshot victim in the 1300 block of West 97th Street, in the unincorporated area of Los Angeles. When deputies arrived, they located a male Black adult victim seated inside a white sedan parked in the driveway of a residence, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Los Angeles County Fire responded, rendered first aid to the victim, and pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Investigators learned several gunshots were heard in front of the location and a vehicle was heard speeding away eastbound on West 97th Street and out of view.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
