*UPD* #LASD Homicide Bureau Responded to a Shooting Death Investigation, 13000 blk Bellflower Blvd., #Bellflower
On Saturday, October 5, 2024, at approximately 8:20 a.m., deputies from Lakewood Sheriff’s Station responded to St. John Bosco High School, in the 13000 block of Bellflower Blvd., Bellflower, regarding a 911 call of a gunshot victim in the parking lot.
When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered the victim, a male Black adult, seated inside a vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds. There was an additional female passenger in the same vehicle, who was uninjured.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries.
Several citizens were in the parking lot at the time of the shooting; however, none of them were injured. At the time of the incident, a youth football game was in progress in the high school stadium, adjacent to the parking lot where the shooting occurred. The victim had arrived there to attend his son's game.
The vehicle the victim was driving, a white Audi, had been reported stolen.
Witnesses observed the suspect vehicle, a white sedan, fleeing southbound Bellflower Blvd from the parking lot.
