On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at approximately 4:30pm, LA County deputies were notified that a murder suspect, a 24-year-old male, was present inside a residence in the 1400 block of W. 131st St, in the city of Compton. After confirming the suspect was inside the location, deputies surrounded the residence and conducted P.A. announcements into the location for the suspect to exit the residence and surrender peacefully. After numerous announcements were given, the suspect did not comply and remained inside the residence. The Crisis Negotiation Team and deputies from the Special Enforcement Bureau were requested to respond to assist with a barricaded murder suspect. After several attempts to negotiate a peacefully surrender, by Crisis Negotiators, the suspect did not exit the residence. Deputies from the Special Enforcement Bureau are currently in the process of making entry into the location and searching for the suspect.
The suspect was identified by LASD homicide investigators as a suspect in the January 7, 2024, shooting death of a male adult in the 12800 block of San Pedro Street, in the unincorporated area of Los Angeles.

NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) personnel are responding to assist Homicide Bureau with an armed barricaded suspect. The incident was reported Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., on the 1400 block of 131st Street in the city of Compton.
SEB personnel will assume tactical command and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) is attempting to make contact with the suspect to bring this to a peaceful conclusion.
The surrounding homes have been evacuated for the safety of the residents.
