INCIDENT: Homicide Investigation
LOCATION: Sultana Street / Escondido Avenue, Hesperia
SUSPECT(S): Demetriel Richine Tyler, 21-year-old Hesperia Resident
Elaina Nicole Norman, 20-year-old Hesperia Resident
VICTIM(S): Aaron Neal, 19-year-old Hesperia Resident
SUMMARY: On Monday, August 19, 2024, at approximately 6:48 a.m., Hesperia Station deputies responded to a suspicious circumstances call in a dirt field southeast of Sultana Street and Escondido Avenue. Upon arriving, deputies located Aaron Neal deceased with obvious signs of trauma.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division-Homicide Detail responded and assumed the investigation. During the investigation it was discovered Neal had been shot with a firearm. Demetrial Tyler and Elaina Norman, who were known to Neal, were determined to be the suspects responsible for Neal’s death.
During the service of a search warrant at Tyler’s home, Tyler and Norman were taken into custody without incident. They were booked into custody at High Desert Detention Center for PC 187 – Murder.
