Advisory
On 08/17/2024, at approximately 2:14 am., Janesville Police and Janesville Fire were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of E. Delavan Drive and Beloit Ave. in the City of Janesville.
The investigation revealed Koty Diaz failed to stop at the red light on Delavan Drive and struck a vehicle traveling north on Beloit Ave. Both occupants of the vehicle traveling north on Beloit Ave. were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Rock County Medical Examiners Office.
Diaz showed signs of impairment and failed field sobriety tests. He was arrested and a warrant was applied for, and signed, by a Rock County Judge for a blood sample. The blood results are pending.
The investigation is on-going with the assistance of the Wisconsin State Patrol Accident Reconstruction Team.
