On December 17, 2022, the burned body of Victim Karla Terron was discovered on the side of the 99 Freeway in Bakersfield. For the last year and eight months, investigators from the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau, with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol and the San Fernando Police Department have conducted an extensive investigation, including two press conferences regarding this case.
Today (08/14/2024), deputies from the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) served a search warrant in the 1500 block of Knox Street in the city of San Fernando. An arrest warrant was issued to arrest a person involved in the murder of Karla Terron.
Shortly after 5:00 am, Suspect Juan Figueroa MH/30 was taken into custody and booked at the San Fernando Police Station for the Murder of Karla Terron.
The investigation is ongoing, and the investigators are working on making additional arrests for others involved in this case.
This case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s for consideration.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect(s) who are wanted for the murder of Karla Terron.
On Saturday, December 17, 2022, at approximately 4:58 a.m. the body of Karla Terron was found engulfed in flames and deceased on the southbound State Route 99 at the Hosking Road off-ramp in Bakersfield. An autopsy determined her cause of death was due to multiple stab wounds. Victim Karla’s last known location alive was at a local bar in the 100 block of North Hagar Street in the city of San Fernando.
